Who we are
BuzzMyBrain ("we") runs buzzmybrain.app and is the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions or requests: souhil@buzzmybrain.app.
What we collect
Waitlist: the email address you submit. Gameplay: a display name you choose, which lives only in the game room and is deleted when the room closes — it is not linked to your identity. Security: your IP address is processed momentarily to rate-limit abuse and is not stored.
Why we use it & legal basis
Your email is used only to tell you when BuzzMyBrain launches and to send occasional product updates — the legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Transient IP processing for abuse-prevention relies on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)). We never sell or rent your data.
Who processes it
Waitlist emails are stored with our email provider, SmarterMail. Hosting, edge delivery and temporary game state run on Cloudflare. These providers act as our processors and may process data outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).
Cookies & local storage
We use no advertising or tracking cookies. The site stores only what's strictly necessary: your language preference and a temporary in-session ID so a game can reconnect after a refresh. Traffic measurement uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and cookieless — so no consent banner is needed.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Game state is ephemeral and disappears shortly after a game ends.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, and you can object to or withdraw consent for our emails at any time (every email also has an unsubscribe link). Email souhil@buzzmybrain.app to exercise any of these. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
